The world of Twisted is one of steam-powered machines, driven by forces beyond mortal understanding — a clockwork world where the mysteries of Alchemancy and the raw forces of nature are harnessed in strange and unsettling ways.
Behind it all is a singular force, driven by its own goals and desires. It seeks to create an ideal world — one it believes to be harmonious, equitable, and immaculate.
But the world it desires is not the world of man.

Twisted is built around narrative, story-driven gameplay linked through campaigns. Individual games are fast, tactical, and cinematic — but it is through campaigns that the world truly comes alive. Characters grow, suffer consequences, form rivalries, and carry the weight of previous battles with them into future encounters.
Every character in Twisted is a named individual with a distinct backstory and role within the wider world. As campaigns unfold, players guide their Companies through interconnected missions where choices matter, outcomes persist, and victories often come at a cost. The story does not reset when a game ends — it moves forward.
The Rules of Twisted
Twisted blends skirmish-level tactics with narrative uncertainty. Players explore the dangerous applications of Alchemancy, harness strange and powerful technology, and clash over control of territory, influence, and opportunity. While London remains the crucible of conflict, the reach of The Engine now extends far beyond its streets.
At the center of every battle is The Engine itself. Its presence is not abstract or passive — it actively interferes in the unfolding conflict. Through the Eye of the Engine deck and the Favour of the Engine mechanic, The Engine exerts its will, altering plans, rewarding ambition, and punishing hubris..
The battle may end, but the story does not!
