

Twisted begins where stories take shape — not with rules, but with choices.
Every game of Twisted is part of a larger narrative: one where characters carry their triumphs and losses from encounter to encounter, and where the campaigns you play weave those moments into something richer.

To start playing, you only need three essential elements:
1. The Rules and Card Decks
The rules of Twisted are available as a free digital download — including the Eye of the Engine deck and Alchemantic Invocation cards.These contain the core mechanics that drive play, teach the flow of skirmishes, and introduce the Engine’s active influence on every encounter.
If you prefer a physical copy, the deluxe Twisted Rulebook Box includes the full hardcover rulebook, all associated card decks, quick reference sheets, counters and templates, and a full set of dice — everything you need to explore both single games and the linked campaign.

2. Your Miniatures - Your Company
Miniatures represent the characters in your Company. Each is a unique individual with story, role, and motivation — not anonymous units on a table.
Choose a faction, collect characters, and build a Company that reflects your tactical style and narrative identity.
A typical game uses 6 to 10 miniatures per side, and you can expand your options over time with individual models, faction boxes, or larger bundles like the Starter Pack.

3. A Battleground - A Storyspace
Twisted is best played on a terrain-rich table roughly 3′ x 3′ (90 x 90 cm). Scatter terrain creates lanes, cover, obstacles and visual context for narrative play.
Players often craft or buy terrain that reflects the feel of the campaign they’re exploring — from London alleyways to frontier ruins and beyond.
You don’t need elaborate terrain to begin; a few well-placed pieces are enough to start your first story.
