Greetings from The Engine…
We are once again on the eve of the greatest miniatures show of the year, AdeptiCon! Lots to unveil, so as it’s brand new, let's start with next steps for the website. As you can see, the new site is up, but not quite fully operational. We’re still working through some bugs with the CMS, along with resetting the web store.
*As this is the first News post on the site, I’ll be repeating a bit from the last social media update.
The site itself is not only a primer to introduce Twisted to new players and fans, but also a great repository for our current and long sitting Community. On top of the areas that introduce new citizens to all things associated with Twisted, there are a few new sections in the works. ‘The Engine’ is where you’ll find news, updates and leaked info. We’ve got a Character Codex in the works. You’ll find details, general info and possibly stories about your favorites…or most hated here. This will live under the newly renovated Factions pages once we get the CMS sorted out. Next up, we’ll have another library, this one filled with Lore. From quick shots of fiction to full blown novelettes, we’ll be adding to the background and internal canon here regularly.

And one final thing I want to mention, the Cogs that keep everything turning, the Community. There will be a section of the site dedicated for the Community to share your adventures, whether it’s painted models featured in a ‘painter’s spotlight’, battle reports that you submit declaring yourself the greatest of all time, or tales of your own to share (we will be accepting Community fiction, but it does have to pass through editorial first). We’re looking at lots of ways to extend Community involvement, and as always, feel free to drop a suggestion in the Twisted Talk Discord Server.
Moving on, I know one of the top questions on everyone's mind is ‘When does the crowdfunding campaign start’? It’s a great question for sure, and I’d love to have a date locked in for you all, but it’s still 6-8 weeks out. While I do have a large chuck of material complete and ready to go, there’s still a bunch more that needs to be done before I feel comfortable launching it, but we’re closing in on that point. The original timeline I had set was to launch last week with AdeptiCon being week two for some great in-person marketing, and finishing out a 21 day campaign the following week. Sadly a few personal catastrophes mucked up my timeline…literally and put things behind. We’ll keep updating as we get closer, but in the meantime, expect some new fiction to help create some excitement as we move forward.
Up next…how about another Company reveal? As it’s AdeptiCon week, we all know that the Elevation of The Engine is nigh, so how about a look at the second Dickensian Company coming in the campaign?
We’ve already spotlighted a few characters, but not a full reveal. So without further ado…let’s have a look at the first character Elevation…Sowerberry the Shadow of Death!
Along with Miss Haversham, Pip, Estella and the three Wraifs, Chain, Nail and Venom, you have The Wailing Death Company (SBE will be added once he gets some color).
For those of you who will be at AdeptiCon, Demented Games is at booth 700. Unfortunately my demo crew (and caster) backed out at the last minute, so while I will have a demo table, it may not be in operation. I will have a handful of new ‘staters’ for sale, 2 from each Faction:

And last but not least!!!
The Elevation of The Engine.
If you are new to the Community, this is the time of year, where The Engine Elevates a member of our esteemed Community. The week before or of AdeptiCon, we will announce the recipient of The Elevation of The Engine. The Elevation will be awarded to an individual of the Twisted Community, someone who shows dedication to The Engine and who embodies the heart and soul of the Community, helping it grow through contributions, engagement and helping create a positive experience for all of us.
Last year, the first of our Twisted Community to be Elevated by The Engine was the illustrious William ‘Mac’ McClelland.
This year, The Engine has chosen a most elusive member of the Community…one who never seems to win its Favor…but also one who is never bothered by that fact…Mr. Ben Kochskamper!
Ben will receive a custom print of his artwork (once final approved of course), we will sculpt a model and create an in-game personality for him. We will work with Ben to refine his character's abilities, create his in-game persona and backstory…along with some other miscellaneous stuff and things.
Dickensians and Servants, Scions and Guild members, we happily present to you Benny the Skamper:

As Feygin continues to attempt to reverse engineer the horror that is Nancy’s Urkin and return Olly and Dodger to their former selves, he’s begun to recruit his own little army of Street Urchins. Benny was his first. Disguised as an Urkin, Benny’s mask along with the staff gifted him by Feygin, Benny is able to not only blend in with the degenerates Nancy creates, but he is also able to hide himself from the notice of The Engine (in game terms, he’ll be able to manipulate the Favor draw or similar).
I hope to see some of you later this week!!! And as a reminder, Pete will be in the UK for Salute next month…track him down and buy him a pint!!
May The Engine guide your way.
