Greetings from The Engine…

While I am back at it, having attended the greatest miniature show of the year, AdeptiCon! Pete jumped on a flight to attend Salute and is now off scouting locations and doing a bit of research in the ‘ole British Isles.
To start this update, we’re going to roll back the clock…back to the initial days of Twisted and the mention of a little not so innocent rat…Trevor.
Ya see, Trevor’s been a busy little bea…errr rat, and he’s been goin round and collecting all sorts of random trinkets under everyone’s noses. Well, almost everyone’s. Archer and The Grey Street Company have caught wind of Trevor and his hoard and have decided to investigate.
One of the things that I want to make sure we get to is all of the items that have been lost to time from the various campaigns of the past. To start, we’re working on the mini-campaign for The Hunt for Trevor, and it starts with one of the things I’m most excited for with the relaunch of our website, The Lore section. Now I expect this to evolve visually over time as we continue to update the site, but you can read about Archer and The Grey Street Company in part one of Trevor’s Hoard, later this week when the Lore section goes live.
Once the story is complete, we’ll be adding the mini-campaign to the Extra’s section of the site for everyone. I do know that this mini-campaign was initially a KS exclusive, but I’ve been working through some of the backlog that has been lost to time, I feel that these things should be open to the community as a show of good faith to you all. We’ll also see a storyline and mini-campaign for Sgt. Clark, a complete and redesigned Art book, along with a few other knick knacks..

So standard fare for me is to take a week off of all business related activities following AdeptiCon, as the two months leading up to and the week of, tend to take a bit of a toll on me and I always feel like I owe my family some time back. Following my break, I jumped right back into rules review and completed my first pass of the update for the Portfolio of Powers. Our faithful community master Mac now has them under review and will be delivering feedback to me soon, as such I’ve since dove into the core rules and will be combining everything from all the current books into a single document and updating the entirety of it. My goal is to have at the very least a playable Alpha build for the crowdfunding backers.
Speaking of the crowdfunding campaign, I do not have any real update for y’all this month. I still need a number of art pieces done, specifically group shots of the new companies…along with some concepts of the characters in said companies. I do however see light at the end of the tunnel, so I expect to have specific news next month.
Continuing on with a look at what’s coming for T2E, let’s have a quick chat about our newest faction, The Queen’s Court…yes THAT Queen, and no, while she will appear in the fiction, fluff and storyline, she will not be a playable character. To start, The Queen’s Court will see three initial Companies.

The first will be familiar to all, as our illustrious Inspector Abberline and the Scotland Yard Constabulary have returned to the Queen’s service after spending a number of years trying to uncover the source of the London Node and the intentions of the so-called Engine that Nouveau and his motley crew so fanatically serve.
Next see’s the special investigations team of Her Majesty’s Inquisitorial Scrutineers, not much is known about them currently other than they are sent in to investigate the unexplainable, the strange and rumored paranormal events that are beyond Abberline, Sgt Clark and the Constabulary’s scope.

And finally we will see The Commandos of the 100 Acre Woods, led by Sir Winston Poogh, a highly decorated and celebrated member of the Royal Forces. Once a vaunted member of the Royal Guard, it is whispered that Winston fought in the Napoleonic Wars, earned his titles after single handedly holding off the 3rd battalion of the 52nd Infantry and redirecting their advance. Winton is accompanied at all times by his faithful ammo pig, Gruntles, a unique gentlefolk assistant gifted to him by the Queen for service to the Empire.
We'll be visiting the commandos more in depth next month and how they came about, along with a bit of a special
dedication.
But first, a look at Sir Winston and Gruntles:

To close, I’ll post a brief update once the Lore section goes live, until then…May The Engine’s Blessings be upon you.
