The Engine Speaks - February 2026

Greetings from The Engine,
The Eye is upon you. As the Influence of The Engine pushes us further into 2026, we look to reveal a number of schemes leading up to the launch of Twisted Second Edition or T2E as we refer to it around here. While we continue to write about the exploits of our various denizens, we are also wrapping up concepts, designs and ideas…some of which we’ll reveal today.
As most of you know, the coming of T2E will see the establishment of Faction Company’s, a simple theme set to give some structure to our existing line, with a focus on point balance and a bonus when taking one for example:
Release The Hounds of Set
Avatar of Set
Overseer
Hound of Set 1
Hound of Set 2
Hound of Set 3
Bonus - All Models in this Company gain Furious Charge when Charging an Enemy Model engaged with a Hound of Set (not the actual Company rule as it hasn’t been developed yet, but you get the idea).
It will also yield new Factions along with a number of new Companies for the four existing Factions. We will also see the start of Seasons. Each edition will have a number of Seasons, with each Season seeing a specific story arc as well as a focus on specific Factions and possibly the introduction of a new faction.
While T2E Season 1 will feature a complete story line with all of our current factions along with the new ones included, it will focus on the happenings and conflict not only between, but within the Dickensians and the Servants of The Engine. Season 2 will focus on the Guild and the Scions will be introducing at least one new Faction, possibly two.
As stated previously, you can expect to see a pair of new Factions, The Queen’s Court which will house a few options for Companies, one of which will be a Crowdfunding and Convention exclusive (available worldwide during any campaign we may run along with any event we may attend through our webstore) and The Mercenaries…keen eyes will recall seeing mention of The Journeymen in past updates. The Dickensians will see two new Companies, and the Servants will also see a pair of new Companies, one of which is The Inquisition.
Our character line up for The Inquisition begins with Elise D’Arc, Bernardo Gui and Gregoire le Hire leading the Ludduite Chasseur and Voltigeur who in turn are supported by Brothers and Devouts.

The Inquisition has been summoned by The Engine, a new Company of Servants fervent in their belief that mankind has no business interfering with The Engine and are hell bent on keeping it and its secrets away from prying eyes.
Next update we’ll take a look at one of the new Dickensian Company’s and the first in-game character to be Elevated by The Engine.
The new website is just over the horizon, the final steps of page hook-ups and CMS setups are being completed, so we should see it soon. That means this will be the last long form update posted in various places. The next update will be posted in The Engine section of the site and socials will see a direct link and an image going forward (FB is being really odd with pages lately and their new AI keeps shutting things down and fighting with it is tedious).
One of the key sections of the new site that I’m pretty excited about is the addition of Lore, both official and community based. When the site launches, it will have a story long owed to the community in the lead in reveal to a mini-campaign featuring Trevor the Rat. This will be followed by a series of Prelude stories that have been written as lead-ins to the core story arc of Season 1. The community section will feature grand stories of adventures and campaigns submitted to our writing team and posted in the community section for all to enjoy.

The Extra’s section will feature both official and unofficial add-ons to the game. Be they campaigns (mini or other), new character ideas, community activities…painting or terrain competition anyone? While I don’t have all the content for this section quite fleshed out yet, it’s also a section that I encourage the community to throw ideas at.

And finally, the CFC aka crowdfunding campaign for T2E is still planned for the end of March/beginning of April and the team is working feverishly to get all the assets gathered and set up. We’ll share what we can when we can.
Until next time, may The Engines favor be yours.
